Subsidised LED bulbs to be sold across city

On successful implementation of UJALA scheme in East Zone of GHMC, Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy congratulated the officials of UCD, Electrical wing and Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL).

As part of the scheme, LED bulbs and tubelights, were sold to households at subsidised rates with the help of self help group women. According to officials promoting the project, power bills come down to the extent of 50% with enhanced lighting.

At a review meeting held on Wednesday, the Commissioner said that about 50,000 LED bulbs have been provided to the households in a span of 5 days. This scheme will be to be implemented in all the 30 circles by deploying 100 community resource persons who will coordinate with SHG women, the Commissioner said.
