Singareni Collieries Company Ltd will purchase 16,500 modern cap lamps at a cost of Rs.5.45 crore and medical equipment worth Rs.4.83 crore. It will also implement the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana for all employees.
These decisions were taken at its board meeting, chaired by chairman and managing director N. Sridhar, here on Wednesday. A release from the company said lightweight LED cap lamps would replace existing heavyweight cap lamps as part of the decision to improve working conditions and amenities for employees.
As regards modern medical equipment for Singareni hospitals, the Board approved the purchase of seven TMT machines, six 2D echo colour Dopplers for diagnosing heart diseases and two mammography machines for diagnosing breast cancer in women.
The Bima Yojana, which offers a life cover of Rs.2 lakh on payment of an annual premium of Rs.12, will be implemented for all employees from next month. The release said two new directors appointed by the Centre – Peeyush Kumar, Director (Technical) Ministry of Coal and Jagadish Kumar, Deputy Secretary to the Ministry – were among those who participated in the Board meeting.
