RINL to work with NMDC

February 03, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL), a Navaratna company, and public sector major National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) will soon announce a joint initiative and work with each other as the latter goes ahead with the commissioning of a new steel plant at Nagarnar in Chhattisgarh, said RINL Chairman & Managing Director P. Madhusudan.

On the sidelines of the two-day national convention of Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India here, Mr. Madhusudan said that RINL, that was earlier Vizag Steel, was offering to leverage its marketing presence across the country to market NMDC’s steel products once the new plant takes off.

However, the marketing will start in two or three years as it will take the time for the plant to be commissioned.

Planning a strategy

“Meanwhile, we are trying to work out a strategy through which they need not perhaps invest in the marketing network and RINL could step in where we have already a national network of marketing available,” Mr. Madhusudan. explained.
