Rajaiah suffers mild stroke

January 28, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - HYDERABAD:

T. Rajaiah, former Deputy Chief Minister who was sacked by Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Sunday on charges of corruption in the Health Department, suffered a mild heart stroke on Tuesday evening.

He was immediately rushed to a private hospital in Hyderguda, where his condition is stated to be stable. The doctors attending on him diagnosed a minor problem in one of the valves in Dr. Rajaiah’s heart. He was, however, discharged from the hospital against medical advice late in the night.

Dr. Rajaiah’s blood pressure and sugar levels went up beyond normal levels due to hypertension resulting in a mild heart stroke. However, shifting him to the hospital on time and medical care helped him recuperate.

Meanwhile, leaders, particularly those from the Dalit community, queued up at the hospital soon after learning about Dr. Rajaiah’s health condition. TDP leader Mothkupalli Narsimhulu said the Chief Minister would be held responsible if anything goes wrong with Dr. Rajaiah and alleged that it was due to Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao’s action that Dr. Rajaiah suffered the heart stroke.

Secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Janaki Ramulu, condemned the sacking of Dr. Rajaiah from the Telangana Cabinet and demanded that the government order a CBI inquiry into the corruption in the Health Department.
