The annual Golf tournament ‘Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup-2012' to raise funds for cancer patients and spread cancer awareness will be held between March 3 and 4 at EMAAR MGF Boulder Hills Golf Club, Gachibowli.

Close to 150 golfers from various parts of the country are expected to take part in the second edition of the Cancer Crusaders Invitation Cup. Large number of celebrities and personalities from all walks of life are also expected to participate.

On Monday, actor Nagarjuna unveiled the tournament. “The tournament is being organised for a good cause and I am very glad that I am associated with it. I hope that the tournament will be well attended and will help in raising funds for cancer patients,” he said.

The golf tournament, being organised by Cure Foundation, will be inaugurated on Sunday by a 20-year-old cancer patient, Sowmya, on March 3.

The second day of the tournament will be inaugurated by two-year-old Rehan Ali, an eye cancer patient.

“We intend to raise funds and spread cancer awareness through extensive participation from ace golfers, sports persons, celebrities and opinion leaders. Our aim is to create a consistent, annual, respectable charity golf tournament that will be well known among the golfing community,” said P. Vijay Anand Reddy, founder of CURE Foundation & Director of Apollo Cancer Hospital.

Well known personalities including Minister for Information & Public Relations, D. K. Aruna, Consul General, Consulate General of USA, Hyderabad, Katherine Dhanani, Additional Director General of Police, Tejdeep Kaur Menon, Karimnagar, District Collector, Smita Sabharwal are expected to participate.
