Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda released the second list of 28 names of party candidates to contest for the forthcoming Telangana Assembly elections in New Delhi on Friday and within no time, the party that boasts of having disciplined cadre, saw protests breaking out in some areas.
Two ticket aspirants – Naresh and Bhaskar Reddy – staged a protest demonstration right outside the State party office near Exhibition Grounds. They raised slogans accusing the BJP of having ‘sold’ the party tickets as it has finalised businessman Yoganand as the candidate for Serilingampally constituency. The duo vowed to continue their indefinite fast till the party leaders accept their demand even as a few activists clambered onto the office building threatening to jump in protest.
Elsewhere too, the official candidate for Bhonigir, Shyamsundar Rao, went ‘missing’ apparently miffed over his name not being cleared in the first list, while a party youth wing leader from Malakpet tried to commit suicide upset over not being considered for the ticket.
