For vehicle users, there is little respite from rising petrol and diesel prices with the three national oil marketing companies effecting another increase in the fuel prices on Wednesday.

Post the upward revision, for the third consecutive day, petrol prices in Hyderabad rose by 16 paise a litre at the pumps of the three companies — Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

Diesel was dearer by 23 paise a litre at the outlets of IOC and HPCL, while at the BPCL bunks, the increase was 22 paise.

On Wednesday, a litre of petrol cost ₹79.55 (₹79.39) at IOC outlets; ₹79.59 (₹79.43) at HPCL and ₹79.51 (₹79.35) at BPCL.

Diesel was dispensed for ₹72.36 (₹72.13) at IOC; ₹72.40 (₹72.17) at HPCL; and ₹72.31 (₹72.09) at BPCL.

Since Monday, petrol has become dearer by 51 paise and diesel by 73 paise at IOC bunks. Prior to Monday, the prices had last been changed on April 24.
