K. Ramesh Guptha, who used to steal cars of his masters after joining as a driver, was arrested along with his accomplice Natarajan Raj by the Saidabad police on Thursday.

A Swift Dzire car stolen by him from Saidabad three months ago and two motorcycles from Tamil Nadu by his associate were recovered, Saidabad Detective Inspector V. Ashok Reddy said. Guptha was arrested several times earlier for stealing cars and bikes in different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

After coming out from prison a few months ago, he was looking out for his fresh targets when he saw an ad in a newspaper seeking driver and approached the advertiser Sudhakar of Secunderabad. He joined as driver and three days later drove away the car after dropping his master’s parents at a function hall in Saidabad.

On a tip-off, the Saidabad police caught Guptha and his associate and recovered the three vehicles.
