Students of Osmania University College of Engineering successfully tested radio-controlled unmanned aircraft after designing and fabricating it themselves. This is the first time that the OUCE students have designed an unmanned aircraft and they showcased it at the SAE ISS Aero Design Challenge-2019 held at SRM Institute of Science and Technology in Chennai from July 19 to 21. The team of students was guided by V. Uma Maheshwar, professor of mechanical engineering. He said three independent teams of seven students each have developed different unmanned aircraft named ‘Phoenix’, ‘Pegasus’ and ‘Gryphons’. He said the team received appreciation from the chairman of Society of Automotive Engineers, Southern Section, Shanmugam, and Senthil Kumar, convenor of Aero Design Challenge-2019.
