A full bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Thursday reserved orders on the 31 appeal petitions filed by different persons on the Yeleru land scam.

The full bench comprising Chief Justice Thottathil B. Radhakrishnan, and Justices M. Seetharama Murthy and S.V. Bhatt heard the arguments of the petitioners and the AP government on the matter.

The CJ sought to know from the AP Public Prosecutor Posani Venkateshwarlu where the money released by the government to the claimants based on the awards passed by the land acquisition court had gone. Most of it was deposited in the bank accounts and the accounts were frozen, the PP replied.

The CJ said the petitioners’ lawyer was correct to the extent of CPC of 340 as a junior principal civil judge was not competent to lodge complaint in the case. The CJ said, however, the government had the option to investigate the scam further under other sections.
