Officials launch drive to distribute passbooks

The district administration has stepped up a special drive to distribute the new pattadar passbooks and cheques to all the eligible farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme across the district.

Minister for Roads and Buildings T. Nageswara Rao formally handed over cheques to some of the beneficiaries at a meeting in Konijerla on Friday.

He outlined the objectives of the investment support scheme and various other initiatives taken up by the TRS government to make agriculture a viable enterprise. Meanwhile, the Revenue field staff embarked on distribution of cheques and passbooks to the elderly farmers and those ailing at their homes.

Chintakani Tehsildar K. Srinivasa Rao handed over the new pattadar passbook and cheque to elderly farmer Ch. Anjaiah at his house in Ramakrishnapuram in the mandal on Friday.

Several beneficiaries reportedly complained to the officials concerned about alleged wrong entry of their details in the new pattadar passbooks on Friday.
