An NSUI protester is being carried away by the police in the city on Saturday.

National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) activists on Saturday attempted to stage a protest outside the Assembly on the issue of Intermediate results’ fiasco, demanding refund of fee paid by students for re-counting and revaluation.

However, the police thwarted their attempt and took the activists into custody before they reached the Assembly area.

State president of NSUI B. Venkat said that they had come to know through an RTI petition that the students had paid about ₹1 crore fee towards re-counting and revaluation before the government announced that there was no need to pay the fee.

They demanded action against Globarena, the software firm that was given the responsibility of processing the results, and the officials of the Board of Intermediate Education and also helping the families of students who had committed suicide on learning that they did not clear the exams.
