Users of the T-Wallet, the official digital wallet of the State Government, can now book bus tickets online using the top up amounts available in their accounts.

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has incorporated a provision in its online passenger ticket reservation system enabling passengers to make payments for e-tickets through T-Wallet.

Once booking is completed, passengers will get an SMS along with the e-ticket in their mail IDs. Passengers will be permitted to go on their journeys based on the strength of the SMS.

The facility was launched by Transport Minister P. Mahender Reddy in the presence of Transport Department Secretary Sunil Sharma and other senior officials on Thursday.

The TSRTC online system currently enables passengers to book their tickets in advance (up to 30 days) for 1,770 long-distance services. Bookings could be done at the TSRTC operated counters, counters of the authorised ticket booking agents, B2C franchise portal and the TSRTC online portal.

According to an official release, on an average, about 13,000 seats were being booked every day of which 6,009 seats were through e-ticketing.

The RTC was realising earnings to the tune of ₹61.09 lakh a day on the payments that could be made using credit/debit cards or net banking.
