Notice served to Malayalam director Omar Lulu over 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' song

The complaint has been lodged by a group of individuals who objected to the video clip of the song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' from his movie 'Oru Adaar Love'

The Falaknuma police have served notice to Malayalam director Omar Lulu following a complaint lodged by a group of individuals who objected to the video clip of the song 'Manikya Malaraya Poovi' from his movie 'Oru Adaar Love' stating that the song refer to the life of Prophet.

Falaknuma inspector P. Yadagiri said that on Saturday evening they have issued a notice through post under Section 160 of CrPC to the film-maker and a team comprising of one sub-inspector and a police constable was sent to Thrissur in Kerala to hand over the notice to Mr. Lulu in person.

“We have asked Mr. Lulu to give an explanation within 15 days. Another notice will be issued to him if the explanation is unsatisfactory,” police said.

On February 14, based on a complaint, a case under section 295A of Indian Penal Code was invoked against Mr. Lulu for deliberately hurting religious sentiments.
