Teams of National Investigation Agency (NIA) searched different places in Old City of Hyderabad on Monday for leads in a terror module busted in 2016 here.

Sources in the Intelligence department said some digital devices along with incriminating material were seized by NIA officials during the searches. They examined two persons at their houses. One of them was reportedly directed to appear before the NIA office in Begumpet on Tuesday for further questioning.

In 2016, NIA busted a terror module linked to terror outfit Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) in Hyderabad. Nine persons were detained in that case. Some explosive materials and arms were allegedly seized from them then.

NIA teams arrived in Hyderabad two days ago and sought the help of the Telangana police in tracing two suspects related to 2016 case. “We were told these two persons got radicalised and developed extreme views related to religion. They NIA officials questioned them but are yet to officially announce if there is prima facie any case against them,” Telangana police officials said.
