A new three-storied brand new guest house for the Judicial Academy and built by the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) Ltd., was inaugurated by the Acting Chief Justice of the High Court, Justice Dilip Babasaheb Bhosale, in the presence of other judges near the Secunderabad Cantonment Board office on Tuesday.
The Academy’s front portion to an extent of 220 square yards was getting affected by the Metro Rail project and it was one of the first government buildings to be handed over for the work. Conceding the request of HMR MD N.V.S. Reddy, the then Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Board of Governors of the Academy surrendered the land, permitting the viaduct through its premises.
The Hyderabad Metro Rail took up the guest house construction measuring 9,000 square foot at a cost of Rs.1.65 crore to function as a hostel for the district judges undergoing training. It has been designed for double accommodation and can house 40 judges at any point of time. It has facilities such as kitchen, common dining area, recreation facilities, etc.
The Academy’s president, Board of Governors Justice R. Subhash Reddy, Justice Raja Elango, Justice Praveen Kumar, Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, Justice A. Ramalingeshwar Rao and Director, Judicial Academy M. Rajender, were present on the occasion.
Mr. Reddy informed that the viaduct of Corridor III (Nagole - Raidurg) in front of the Academy has been completed and it is constructed at a height of 40 feet, parallel to the existing Harihara Kalabhavan flyover. A portion of Parade Grounds Metro station is at a height of 55 feet and is in advanced stage of completion.
Corridor II (JBS - Falaknuma) metro line viaduct will cross over Corridor III perpendicularly and the flyover at a height of 78 feet. Corridor II portion of Parade Grounds Metro station which will be started soon, will be at a height of 92 feet (platform level). These two portions of Parade Grounds Metro station will be connected with each other with a complex structural engineering design with all facilities for passengers as an interchange between the two corridors, he explained.
