Nampally legislator’s son passes away

Maqsood Hussain, son of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator Jaffar Hussain Meraj, passed away on Thursday following health complications.

Family sources said Hussain (33) had been suffering from kidney problem, owing to which he was was on dialysis for some time. In November, Hussain underwent a kidney transplantation after which his health deteriorated. He is survived by wife.

Hussain breathed his last at a private hospital in Somajiguda in the morning.

He was surrounded by his family at the time of death.

Hussain’s namaaz-e-janaaza (funeral prayers) were performed in the Mecca Masjid.

In the run-up to the recent Assembly election, during a public meeting, the legislator had been informed of his son’s poor health condition. An emotional Mr. Meraj had then urged people to pray for his son’s recovery.
