Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu’s residence was a beehive of activity with party workers, MLA/MP-elects from all parts of the State and senior IAS and IPS officers queuing up to greet Mr. Naidu.

Members of the Nandamuri clan including Jr. NTR and Kalyanram, both sons of Harikrishna, were among those who called on Mr. Naidu. Party sources stated that they congratulated Mr. Naidu for leading the party in its comeback to power after a decade. Actor R. Narayana Murthy also met Mr. Naidu.

Mr. Naidu was understood to have held discussions with senior leaders of the party over choosing an efficient and effective team of officers to head important posts in the Seemandhra government including Chief Secretary, Principal Secretaries and the Chief Minister’s Office.

It is learnt that Mr. Naidu, who will be elected as the TDP Legislature Party leader formally at a meeting later this week, is examining the names of senior officers I.V. Subba Rao and I.Y.R. Krishna Rao for the chief secretary’s post and the names of A.K. Parida, Lakshmi Parathasarathi, N. Ramesh Kumar and D. Sambasiva Rao for other key posts including the CMO’s.

MP-elects of the party including M. Murali Mohan, Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, Maganti Babu and Galla Jayadev, MLA-elects B. Gopalakrishna Reddy, Ganta Srinivasa Rao and others called on Mr. Naidu at his residence. “Good days are ahead for India and Seemandhra under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Chandrababu Naidu. We will work hard to make Seemandhra a successful State in tune with the expectations of people,” Mr. Murali Mohan said.

Sources in the party indicated that Mr. Naidu was planning to set up a camp office in central coastal Andhra as he was interested in operating from Seemandhra itself as the Chief Minister of the State. He was planning to stay put in the camp office by touring Seemandhra for five days a week and staying in Hyderabad for one-two days. Mr. Naidu is also stated to be planning to evaluate his dispensation’s performance every three months including that of his Cabinet.
