Mphasis opens second facility in city

IT solutions provider specialising in cloud and cognitive services Mphasis on Friday opened its second facility in Hyderabad, a 500-seater development centre in Gachibowli.

Further to the success of the Cognitive Hub for Risk and Compliance that was set up in August 2016, the new centre will help build on the work across verticals and a wide spectrum of next-gen technologies, the company said.

In a media interaction, after IT Minister K.T. Rama Rao inaugurated the facility, CEO and ED Nitin Rakesh said Mphasis now had a headcount of 300 in city.

“There is already demand for the seats, half of it will be filled up soon,” he said, adding by end of 2020 the company was likely to consider another round of expansion. For now, the company was looking for operate out of both the locations in Hyderabad.

On the India count, he said it was around 20,000 which half of that in Bengaluru. Chennai as a location for the company was also growing going fast.

A release said the company sought to building on the strength in the financial services and now expanding across logistics and real estate. The new centre will embark on transformational projects helping global enterprises accelerate business outcomes. The company sought to attract and developing niche technology talent with capabilities including Data analytics, AI/ML, React and Java technologies.

To queries, Mr.Rakesh said the company was open to working with start-ups in the fintech space.

The Minister said Telangana always endeavored to promote progress and development by encouraging investment in key sectors such as IT.
