An experimental lighting lit up the Moazzam Jahi market on Friday evening for a few hours. “We wanted to show how architectural lighting works and how the government can use it to make Hyderabad’s heritage beautiful and attractive,” said Kunal Shah of International Association of Lighting Designers.
A number of architecture students flocked to see the building as it was lit up with a 80 watt 3000 Kelvin warm white focus lamp highlighting the granite face of the MJ market tower and dome in a stunning way.
“There is so much potential for similar lighting in the city and other monuments,” said Anuradha Reddy of Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage who coordinated the experimental lighting.
