It is now clear the Hi-Tec City to Raidurg, one-and-a-half-kilometre stretch on Corridor Three - Nagole to Shilparmamam/Raidurg, is likely to be completed in November 2019 only as it involves construction of 49 pillars and the Raidurg terminal station.
However, all out efforts are being made to complete the 8.5-km stretch from Ameerpet to Hi-Tec City by June next as per the directions given by Minister for Municipal Administration K.T. Rama Rao, according to Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N.V.S. Reddy on Thursday.
Work inspection
After undertaking an inspection of the work in the last two days along with his engineers and those of the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRH) including Project Director M.P. Naidu and others, Mr. Reddy exhorted them to reduce the proposed ‘three years to two years’ to take the metro line towards Raidurg by taking up the station work right away.
He also stated that the project would be declared ‘completed’ once the Hi-Tec City link is completed as also Corridor One - L.B. Nagar to Miyapur and Corridor Two - Jubilee Bus Station to MGBS, Imlibun.
Yousufguda pillars
It was decided at the coordination visit that pillars in Yousufguda should be initially built on the left hand side where a nearby five-storied bike showroom is under demolition and later it could be taken to the centre of the road.
There are 21 spans of the metro viaduct yet to be built in this area as in Yusufguda basti (two spans), Krishnanagar (nine spans), Transtroy building (two spans)and Sirisampada Apartments (eight spans) in Jubilee Hills by January-end, so that the track, electrical traction and signalling work can be taken up to adhere to the mid-2018 target. Few more properties acquisition is necessary for taking up entry/exit points for Peddamma Temple, Madhapur and Durgam Cheruvu metro stations.
Hi-Tec city viaduct
It was also announced that the metro elevated viaduct at Hi-Tec City will be moved between the Cyber Towers and Hi-Tec City flyover instead of taking it through the originally proposed Shilparamam side. For building pillars and ensuring traffic flow towards the right side of the flyover, the crafts village boundary wall will be demolished and restored later.
