Mayor, officials take up sanitation tour of localities

GHMC Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioner and other officials, following instructions from Minister K.T. Rama Rao, toured various localities to monitor the sanitation situation and educate the people about spread of mosquito-borne diseases.

In order to set an example, Mr. Rama Rao inspected his home to ensure that there is no stagnant water, and posted the pictures on his Twitter account. Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan, on his part, visited Vinoba Nagar in Lalapet and monitored the sanitation and entomology operations by the GHMC staff. He interacted with the local people, and asked them to remove stagnant water from pots, coolers and other containers.

At Manikeshwar Nagar, with the help of entomology staff, he removed mosquito larvae from the water tanks and displayed them to the residents, to drive home the point.

Deputy Mayor Baba Fasiuddin toured Ramachandrapuram, SN Colony, BHEL and Gopannapalli, while GHMC Commissioner D.S. Lokesh Kumar inspected the Tank Bund and Indira Park garbage transfer station.
