A 20-year-old woman was attacked with a sharp weapon in S. R. Nagar on Monday afternoon. The condition of the woman is said to be stable.
According to the police, Mamata who stays at Sai Hostel, was accosted by 22-year-old Shravan who came looking for Mamata’s friend. “Shravan told the woman that he had come to meet her roommate and came inside the room. As Mamata asked him to go away, the man took out a sickle and inflicted two wounds on her head,” Sub Inspector S R Nagar, S Saidulu said.
On hearing her cries, people rushed inside and caught the man.
Marriage proposal rejected
The police said that Shravan is a relative of the woman he wanted to meet. The woman had rejected his proposal for marriage. “It appears that Shravan came to attack his relative but after an argument with Mamata, he attacked her,” the official added. The police have registered a case.
