Malls booked for GST violations

Department of Legal Metrology on Thursday raided shopping malls and super markets booking 125 cases for Goods and Service Tax (GST) and Legal Metrology violations.

Establishments were booked for selling items at older GST rates despite revisions. Acting on complaints, the officials constituted 16 teams and raided business establishments in Manikonda, Bachupally, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Nampally, Gachibowli, Begam Bazar, Kukatpally, Miyapur and Ameerpet.

Cases were booked against Ratandeep super market, Heritage Super Market, More, Spencers, Big Bazar and Mahaveer Electrical and Hardware, among others.
