Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) chief spokesperson Dasoju Sravan, AICC secretary Sampath Kumar and TPCC spokesperson Addanki Dayakar demanded that a lie-detector test be conducted on Chief Electoral Officer Rajat Kumar.

At a press conference here on Thursday, they alleged that the ECI and CEO had not only deprived 22 lakh voters by deleting their names from the list but also ignored the tampering of EVMs by the ruling party deliberately. He charged the CEO Rajat Kumar with working in connivance with TRS and EC.

Mr. Sravan alleged that the CEO had committed poll offences of great magnitude and he should face the punishment as per the law. How was it possible that in the villages where TRS leaders were denied entry during the campaign got all votes in favour of it, he asked and attributed it to EVM tampering. Why is the CEO shying away from counting the VVPATs, he asked.

Mr. Sampath said if Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao and his son Taraka Rama Rao were sincere they should be ready for an inquiry on the phones used by them after the Assembly was dissolved. He said the votes they received was no match for the response they got and this clearly shows there was some conspiracy. Mr. Dayakar said he as Tungaturti candidate saw how more votes were shown by the EVMs than the actual votes polled in several booths. In villages where where Congress had good support, the EVMs did not function properly, he claimed.

At a separate press conference, TPCC Campaign Committee chairman Bhatti Vikramarka said the results were manipulated by the ruling party. However, they would continue to raise people’s issues and also put pressure on the government to fulfil the promises made during the campaign. D. Sudhir Reddy and Poden Veeraiah, MLAs were also present.
