A Bentley showroom opened in Hyderabad on Friday, only the third such facility of the ultra luxury car-maker in the country.

Launched through Exclusive Motors Pvt Ltd, its exclusive dealer for India, the showroom at Jubilee Hills is equipped with a state-of-the-art service centre too. Delhi and Mumbai host the other facilities.

All four models – Flying Spur, Bentayga, Mulsanne as well as the recently unveiled Continental GT – made at Bentley headquarters in Crewe, England, would be marketed by the showroom. The company sees south India as a high growth area with tremendous potential for its future business, a release said.

Exclusive Motors managing director Satya Bagla said since 2003, when the first showroom opened in Delhi, 500 Bentley cars have been sold in the country. Sounding upbeat about the growth prospects, he said the target was to take the annual sales from the present high double digits to three digits.

The price range is upwards of ₹3 crore and varies depending on the model and customisation. To a query, he replied after a change in the import duty recently, the cost of the car increased by around 11%.

Handcrafted cars

Describing Bentleys as a “collection of the most luxurious handcrafted cars”, British Deputy High Commissioner Andrew Fleming Bentleys said the car represents the very best of British engineering.

“That Bentley has chosen to establish a showroom and the state-of-the-art maintenance facility here in the City of Peals is representative of the wealth and prosperity that exists within this city,” he said. “With Telangana’s GDP continuing to grow faster than in much of India, I have no doubt there will be plenty of potential customers with the means and desire to acquire these beautiful vehicles,” he said.

Stating that the United Kingdom interests were not restricted to automotive alone as it was keen on forging partnerships across the spectrum to increase the prosperity of the two countries, he said that Britain was open for business and would seize opportunities that would come its way.

Bentley Motors regional manager (Middle East, Africa and India) Neil Wilford said the showroom opens in the backdrop of the car-maker unveiling one of its most anticipated models – the all-new Bentley Continental Grand Tourer.
