Land allotment documents for the proposed Women Green Industrial Park in Sultanpur, Patancheru of the FICCI Ladies Organisation were handed over by IT and Industry Minister K.T. Rama Rao to FLO Chairperson Padma Rajgopal.

The Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) has allocated 50 acres on the location in the city outskirts to the FLO. This would be FLO’s first women entrepreneur park in the country. The land was allocated at a rate of ₹ 45 lakh per acre.

The Minister handed over the sanction proceedings of allotment of the land at a function organised on the occasion of International Women’s Day at TSIIC office in the city, a release said.

The infrastructure at the park, which would be hosting units of the FLO members, is to be developed by the TSIIC. The FLO members, who have minimum 51% share in partnerships / private firms would be allocated land.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao urged women to break the stereotype of celebrating women. The stereotype celebrations reinforce and reiterate the male point of view. Women should be treated as an individual not just as mother, wife, sister or anything, he said.

Thanking the TSIIC for the land, Ms. Rajgopal requested the Corporation and the State Government to undertake all liaisoning and grant processes with various agencies for the development of the land.

The Minister agreed to a request of the FLO for allocation of five acres on lease to develop, build and operate a Centre of Excellence for Skill Development for women from Weaker and Under-Privileged sections of the society, the release said.
