Minister for Municipal Administration K.T. Rama Rao along with Minister for Finance Etala Rajender unveiled a pylon to launch the development projects valued at ₹250 crore here on Monday. He visited the municipal office to inaugurate an open gymnasium and Citizens Services Centre. He also laid stone for the redesigning of a traffic islands at Telangana chowk. At the Municipal Office, the Minister appreciated Mayor S. Ravinder Singh for setting up of sanitary napkins vending machine.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister for Municipal Administration announced release of Rs 25 crore for the completion of the long pending underground drainage works in the town. He also called upon the people to support the MCK authorities to maintain the city clean and tidy by proper segregation of the garbage from the generating points.
Mayor S. Ravinder Singh urged the Minister to take measures for the construction of quarters for the Municipal Commissioner and other staff of the municipal corporation. Member of Parliament B. Vinod Kumar, legislator Gangula Kamalakar, State Cultural Council Chairman Rasamayi Balakishan, Z.P. chairperson Tula Uma, MLCs N. Laxman Rao and T. Bhanu Prasad Rao and others were also present.
