Juvenile booked for taking pictures of women

A minor boy was booked for allegedly recording videos and taking pictures of women on his mobile phone while they were showering in a women’s hostel.

According to Madhapur police, the accused, a 14-year-old boy studying in Class IX lives in a building which is adjacent to the women’s hostel in Madhapur.

Police said that the accused recorded the videos and clicked photos on his mobile phone from the balcony of his house from where a section of the hostel is visible.

One of the hostel inmates, police said, noticed what the boy was doing. She raised an alarm and went to the police station where she lodged a complaint. According to Madhapur police inspector Y Nageshwar Rao, the accused’s father is a realtor and mother is a home-maker.

Police are now verifying whether the accused shared the images and videos of the victims with others.

The accused will be produced before the juvenile justice board after which he could be sent to a juvenile home. A case under Section 354 (intent to outrage modesty of woman) has been booked against the accused.
