IT corridor to turn a safe haven soon

Society for Cyberabad Security Council proposes a new police station and a dedicated women cell. Srinivas Prasad, secretary of the council, said that they now own 45 km of Optic Fiber Cable network laid in Madhapur and Gachibowli zones and 47 CCTV cameras with no debt pending on the council.

A new police station and a dedicated women cell for the IT corridor were some of the resolutions passed at the Executive Committee Meeting of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council held here on Thursday.

It was also conveyed by the members that TCS has come forward to sponsor the women cell building. Some of the other resolutions included forming a separate women forum before September which would be represented by three IT women employees. A new working committee was also decided to be constituted to work on various development activities in the area.

Cyberabad Commissioner C.V. Anand, who is also the honorary chairman of the council, informed that a 24/7 call centre for women will be set up in Madhapur and Gachibowli in such a way that new patrolling vehicles will be able to respond to incidents in IT corridor within 10 minutes.

Mr. Anand also urged the IT companies to install CCTV cameras inside as well as outside their premises. He also briefed the council on the achievements during the financial year 2013-14.

Srinivas Prasad, secretary of the council, said that they now own 45 km of Optic Fiber Cable network laid in Madhapur and Gachibowli zones and 47 CCTV cameras with no debt pending on the council. He also thanked the Cyberabad police officials for helping them increase the membership of the council in the last one year.

The meeting was attended by about 50 representatives of IT companies besides top officials of the Cyberabad police.
