IPE team tops NTPC quiz

Do you know what was the profession of Thomas Cook before he started his travel agency? Or can you name the marketing strategy where you can turn strangers into friends and friends into customers? These and other questions were fired at the enthusiastic students by quiz master Andrew Scolt during NTPC ‘Electron Quiz-2011' held here on Thursday. The annual quiz competition was organised by NTPC Ltd. and conducted by Derek O Brien Associates.

About 55 teams, from various Business Management, Engineering and Degree colleges, participated in the preliminary round of the quiz. Md. Zuhair Ali and B. Naveen Kumar from IPE stood first in the Regional Finals and won Rs. 30,000. While B. Sasi Priya and V. Bhargav from VNR Vignan Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology stood second and won Rs. 20,000, Soumik Sen and J.V. Surya Prakash from IPE secured the third position.

Thomas Cook worked as a Cabinet Maker before starting a travel agency. The marketing strategy which helps you in turning a stranger into friend and a friend into a customer is called ‘Permission Marketing'.
