Some agents who had managed to secure Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (PGMET) paper before the exam held training classes for the candidates at different cities including Bangalore, Mumbai, Goa and Hyderabad, the CID officials had reportedly found.
Crucial roleThey suspect that one of the top rank holders, Jagdeep, played crucial role in getting the paper leaked. He was believed to have colluded with some agents who trained the candidates appearing for the test based on the leaked question paper.
Lakhs of rupees allegedly changed hands during this course.
Three namedIn a report submitted to the top brass, the investigators mentioned names of Vineet Singh, P.S. Rao, retired bank officer of Vijayawada and Muneeswar Reddy stating the trio colluded with persons who leaked the test paper. Among lapses pointed out by the police in conducting the test was the long period of gap between assigning the test paper for printing and delivery by the printer.
While the job work was assigned on February 8, 2014, printed question papers were delivered to NTR University of Health Sciences on February 25.
“Handing over the sealed cover containing question paper and the pen drive loaded with soft copy to the printer was not properly executed,” they remarked.
The confidential material in pen drive did not have any password. The sealed cover was not given to the printer directly, but delivered to the latter’s representative at a place away from the printing press.
Moderator working on ad-hoc basisThe investigators noted that a moderator of NTRUHS, actively associated with preparation of the question paper, had been assigned the task for past 13 years without any written instruction. He was being continued on ad-hoc basis, they observed.
