Inflows into Srisailam continue to rise

It received 1.76 lakh cusecs on Friday

Inflows into the Srisailam project continued to rise significantly as release from upper reaches of Krishna river continued on Friday.

According to the Central Water Commission data, Srisailam project received 1.76 lakh cusecs on Friday evening with storage crossing 30 tmcft.

The project is receiving huge inflows from the Jurala project and spillways of Tungabhadra dam in Karnataka.

Jurala received 1.8 lakh cusecs from Narayanpur reservoir and outflows from the project were pegged at 1.85 lakh cusecs as the storage capacity of the project reached 9.34 tmcft, close to full capacity of 9.66 tmcft at full reservoir level.

The discharge from the Almatti project is estimated at 1.73 lakh cusecs and that from the upstream Narayanpur project is 1.88 lakh cusecs, while 69,451 cusecs of water is being released from the spillways of Tungabhadra dam.

Inflows into Jurala were expected to continue.
