The 66{+t}{+h}edition of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress (IPC) will take off here on Friday to dispel misgivings about the drug manufacturing facilities and quality control norms, particularly to about 15 regulatory bodies of different countries which approve/reject drug imports from India.
Chief executives of about 30 overseas pharmaceutical companies, many from Indian companies and about 6,000 delegates (pharmacists) working in various capacities in the pharmaceutical industry, drugs control administration, academia, hospital, clinical and community pharmacy sectors are expected to participate in the three-day event. The event is being held in association with Pharmaceutical Export Promotion Council of India (Pharmexcil) set up by the Union Commerce Ministry.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who will inaugurate the event, would also meet the CEOs of pharma firms from within the country and outside.
