‘IndiaJoy 2018’, a five-day event focused on the AVG (Animation, Visual Effects and Gaming) industry got under way in the city on Sunday.
The programme, comprising conferences and exhibition, is being supported by the State Government and facilitated by Telangana VFX, Animation & Gaming Association (TVAGA). The event, which is divided into B2B area for business and B2C for gamers, is expected to attract over 25,000 visitors, a release from the organisers said.
At the Anthill Ventures and Animation Express investor meet, forming part of the event, startups would vie for funds, mentorship and connect with investors.
Annual event
It is the first edition of IndiaJoy and has been conceived in the level of global scale Asian digital entertainment expo and is expected to be an annual affair. “Indiajoy is a showcase of best talent, promise and potential of the animation, VFX, gaming and digital entertainment sector holds in the future,” IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan said. “We expect more inward investments in the sector as it has shown tremendous promise and growth outperforming other sectors in recent years,” the official said in the release.
