A 24-year-old budding female actor was rescued by the Hyderabad police after they busted a high-profile prostitution racket being organised in a star hotel at Banjara Hills here. The west zone task force team led by inspector K Nageswar Rao raided the hotel and apprehended an organiser and a customer. They also recovered ₹40,000, 12 condom packets and three mobile phones from their possession.

The accused were Ambula Janardhan Rao (46), organiser and a resident of Chilkalguda, and Amit Mahendra Sharma (39), a government employee and a resident of Sainikpuri, was the customer.

Mr Nageswar Rao said the rescued woman was a budding actor from Mumbai, who is a native of Agra of Uttar Pradesh.

He said Janardhan Rao involved film actors from Mumbai and other parts of the country in flesh trade in the State capital.

Earlier, he had been arrested by the police of the Banjara Hills, Punjagutta and Chandanagar on the charge of involvement in flesh trade.

The three, along with the seized material, were handed over to the Banjara Hills police for investigation.
