Continuing its spree of sops for different sections, the State government has decided to enhance the honorarium being paid to second ANMs from ₹11,000 to ₹21,000 a month.
The State Cabinet met under the chairmanship of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao ahead of Pragati Nivedana Sabha, a massive public meeting to explain the achievements of the TRS government in a short span of four years, here on Sunday.
The Cabinet meeting, however, focussed on ratifying certain administrative proposals rather than discussing political affairs as was anticipated. Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari said the State Cabinet would meet shortly to take “key decisions” that were not taken up in the Sunday’s agenda.
The statement assumes significance in the light of reports that the Chief Minister was keen on opting for early elections dissolving the present Assembly along with the impending elections to four States – Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Mizoram – towards the end of the year.
The Sunday’s meeting ratified the proposal for enhancing minimum wages being paid to workers in various categories under the National Urban Health Mission. Over 9,000 workers would benefit from the decision. It was also decided to enhance salaries paid to doctors working in various public health schemes on contract and outsourcing basis from ₹36,000 to ₹40,000 a month. The Cabinet had earlier approved enhancement of honorarium being paid to Asha workers from ₹6,000 to ₹7,500 a month and for Gopalmitras from ₹3,500 to ₹8,500 a month. The Cabinet has resolved to allot 75 acres of land to different communities for construction of Atma Gaurava Bhavans, buildings that would be the centres of activity of respective communities, at a cost of ₹70 crore.
A decision taken by the Chief Minister to allot five acres of land for the construction of Reddy Hostel has been ratified by the Cabinet.
