A five-year-old girl Durga was kidnapped from Secunderabad railway station by an unidentified woman on Thursday afternoon. Based on the video footage recorded by surveillance cameras at the railway station, the Government railway police launched a hunt for abductor.

The girl's mother Rani hailing from Kakinada arrived at the station on Thursday morning by Gouthami Express along with the kid. She had gone to the house of a person to collect the money she had lent.

As the person was not at home, she returned to the station at around 1 p.m. She went to the ticket issuing counter when her kid started crying. A woman approached her and persuaded her to buy fruits and snacks for the girl so that she stops crying.

Accompanied by the stranger, the woman took her daughter to fruit vendors outside the station. After purchasing the fruits, they returned to the ticket counter.

The stranger walked away carrying Durga while the latter's mother was busy checking her baggage. After checking the station premises, the shocked woman approached the railway police who registered a kidnap case.
