June 22, 2015 04:46 pm | Updated 04:46 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has urged the citizens to take up the issue of pollution of various kinds in the city and inform the municipal officials.

GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar in an appeal on Monday asked the residents to lodge complaints on pollution caused by industries, vehicles, open burning of leaves and garbage, crop residues, rubber and waste plastic which could lead to health problems.

Those coming across such activities could complain to Deputy Commissioners, assistant medical officer of health, zonal commissioners and additional commissioners (health and sanitation) concerned, whose phone numbers were available on the GHMC website ‘www.ghmc.gov.in’, according to a press release. On pollution, citizens could also call the civic body’s toll-free Ph.No. 040-21111111 or lodge complaints online.
