Police recover gold ornaments and silver articles worth ₹35 lakh from them

Four members of an inter-State Pardhi gang, including a father-son duo accused of murder for gain in Maharashtra and involved in 21 house burglaries by night in Telangana, were caught by the Cyberabad police on Wednesday. The gang also committed a robbery at Medchal in February and since then was at large, said Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V.C. Sajjanar.

The sleuths of Special Operation Team who apprehended the Pardhi gang recovered 1 kg of gold ornaments and 3 kg of silver articles, worth ₹ 35 lakh from their possession. Mr Sajjanar said that the gang members used to erect temporary tarpaulin shelters near railway stations or suburbs close to main roads and do a recce of localities in the guise of selling toys, rudrakshas (prayer beads) or hair wigs and identify the locked houses to loot.

After gaining entry inside the houses by breaking the locks with iron rods, they would beat up the inmates if they resisted and take away the available property, he said.

Sher Singh Rathore (40) of Seoni Mala Town in Hoshangabad district, Dilawar Singh (20), his father Razwadi Lal (45) and Shahed Kapur (21) from Buruli in Katni district of Madhya Pradesh were the arrested. The notorious gang committed offences in Cyberabad, Rachakonda, Khammam and Warangal police commissionerates and Mahabubnagar.

According to Mr. Sajjanar, the kingpin of the gang, Rathore, committed house burglaries in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Assam, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Telangana States since his childhood.

Efforts are on to nab Insaniyat and Iqbal, sons of arrested Razwadi Lal who are at large.
