Officials told to submit project completion reports

Chief Secretary S.P. Singh has directed the departments to take steps to expeditiously complete development work launched in different parts of the State with the assistance of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard).

The Chief Secretary who reviewed the ongoing works during a high power committee meeting on Wednesday asked the officials to submit project completion reports of work under Nabard (16 to 23) through the Finance Department. The departments concerned should focus on the progress of work conducting internal review meetings as and when required.

Progress report

Of the 4,609 projects sanctioned with an estimated outlay of ₹4,641 crore, work worth ₹2,607 crore had been completed so far. The Finance Department should submit a report on the progress of work launched under the RIDF-16 before June 20, he said. Mr. Singh reviewed progress of projects like setting up of field veterinary institutions under Animal Husbandry Department, construction of additional classrooms in junior colleges, compound walls and toilets in educational institutions, bridges, check dams and lift irrigation schemes, among others.

Officials told the Chief Secretary that construction of 284 godowns out of the 364 taken up under the warehousing infrastructure had been completed so far. Senior officials from Animal Husbandry Department, Roads & Buildings, Panchayat Raj, Collegiate Education and other departments participated in the review meeting, according to a release.
