The NTPC Ramagundam, Telangana project team, in association with NETRA (NTPC Energy Technology Research Alliance) has used fly ash-based geopolymer concrete to lay a road.

Laid inside the Telangana project, it is an approach road to CHP area. On Wednesday, a team led by ED-Ramagundam and Telangana, P.P. Kulkarni, inspected the construction site and appreciated the team for finishing the work on schedule.

The cement-free fly ash-based geopolymer provides for sustainable construction material with negligible Co2 emission and low water consumption, besides paving the way for bulk fly ash utilisation.

The geopolymer road would further be tested for heavy vehicle traffic.
