Over 40 passengers travelling in an Aero Express bus managed to get off without suffering burns after a fire broke out in it when it was at Kishenguda near Shamshabad on Monday.

The bus taking passengers from the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Gachibowli got completely burnt in the accident, fire service officials said. The incident occurred when the bus with 40 passengers reached Kishenguda around 9 p.m.

“The fire started in the front portion of the bus. On seeing the smoke and flames, the driver jumped out,” the authorities said. Alerted by the driver, the passengers too managed to get off the bus. Fire tenders from RGIA and Chandulal Baradari fire stations were rushed to the spot to douse the flames.
