The regional office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation at Barkatpura here will conduct an awareness programme and organise an exhibition on its activities for the benefit of employees and employers at Ravindra Bharathi on June 1.

At a press conference here, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner (Hyderabad) M. Sree Krishna said employers could register themselves on the Online Registration of Establishment portal for allotment of the PF number.

He said employees and employers could visit the exhibition to know the initiatives and achievements of the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.

Online functions

Multi-locational establishments could map employee-wise location online, he said. Since January 1 this year, an employees enrolment campaign had been going on for employers and it was valid till June 30.

The Central government was bearing the pension contribution of 8.33% through the Pradhan Mantri Rozgar Protsahan Yojana.

Prominent among those who would attend the exhibition are Union Minister of State for Labour and Employment Bandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister of State for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Labour Ministers N. Narasimha Reddy (Telangana) and Pithani Satyanarayana (Andhra Pradesh).

Separate zone

Mr. Sree Krishna said a separate zonal office for Telangana was established this January, with eight regional and three district offices.

Currently, there were 37,919 establishments with 84.97 lakh subscribers in the zone, he said.

Members could put their claims online in a simplified, one-page composite claim form, the Regional PF Commissioner said. No supporting documents were required and that self-declaration was enough. All claims would be settled within 10 days while death claims would be settled within a week.

Grievances would be redressed in a fortnight, Mr. Sree Krishna added.

Payments online

Payments would be routed through the electronic and digital fund transfer system, he said.

Aadhaar seeding of the Universal Account Number together with a bio-metric system was also introduced, Mr. Sree Krishna said. Other initiatives of the EPFO include the Digital Jeevan Pramaan Patra for life certificates, settlement of PF and pension on the day of retirement and group housing scheme, he explained.
