It was a long depressing wait for not just the family members of Little Chinnari, but for the entire village of Ekkareddyguda in Chevella district. The entire village assembled near the borewell at the roadside crop-field into which the 18-month-old girl slipped on Thursday night. Every villager for the safe rescue of the little girl. When policemen tried to keep the villagers away from the rescue operation site, some of them burst out in anger. “We are ready to even go inside the borewell to bring out the baby. Are you ready to take such risks,” some of them were seen arguing. Women and children came in batches and sat at the site. “All that we want is to see the girl come out safe. We'll wait longer,” a woman said. Renuka and Yadagiri, parents of the girl, were exhausted by Friday afternoon having explained how it had happened to batteries of media persons, villagers, officials and relatives.
At one stage, Yadagiri was so frustrated that he told journalists not to insist on speaking except recording videos or clicking pictures. “I have spoken enough. Now, please don't ask any questions,” he said on seeing approaching media persons.
