Telangana State Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma on Tuesday took up the issue of illegal dumping of debris by private property owners beneath the central median below the metro viaduct at several places across the three corridors.
He instructed the L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad (L&TMRH) as well as the GHMC’s health and sanitation wing to be more vigilant and impose penalties on those dumping such debris surreptitiously.
Presiding over the weekly meeting of the special task force overseeing the Metro Rail project construction, Mr. Sharma also wanted the acquired land sites – whether private or those of the government should be immediately barricaded for utilisation for the construction activity to prevent misuse.
The delay in shift of electrical poles on the carriageway where the road has been already widened too has come up for discussion and the authorities concerned were advised to immediately remove them to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
Earlier, Hyderabad Metro Rail managing director N.V.S. Reddy made presentation on the action taken report on the progress of the project thus far where he had indicated that the acquisition of the government vested municipal properties was proceeding at a decent pace.
About 132 properties were yet to be acquired for facilitating obstacle free vehicular movement in a few critical stretches.
The Chief Secretary also directed senior officials of the GHMC, Collectors of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy and others to expedite the acquisition process and rigorously pursue the court cases with the help of Advocate General.
