Celebrations pass off peacefully in Karimnagar

Devotees bid adieu to Lord Ganesh, after performing nine-day navarathri puja, and took the clay and plaster of paris images from various parts Ganesh mandaps to the immersion points at Manakondur tank, Kothapalli tank and SRSP canal at Chintakunta on the outskirts of the town on Saturday.

The idols were taken out in a colourful processions amid drum beats and rhythmic dancing by youth and kolatam by the womenfolk. In the colonies, the women accorded harathi and broke coconuts to the Lord participating in the procession. The streets reverberated with the slogans of “Ganesh Maharajk Jai” and “Ganapathi Bappa Moriya”, among others.

The Karimnagar district police made unprecedented security arrangements for the smooth passage of immersion procession from the Karimnagar town to the immersion points and . The police have monitored the procession through CCTV cameras. from the command control in the headquarters. The police had deployed the rescue teams at all the immersion points to avoid any untoward incidents.

The main procession of the Ganesh idols was passing through the busy Tower circle area in the town where the organizers were welcoming the idols with flowers and kumkum. People had thronged in large numbers to witness the procession of the Ganesh idols immersion at all the immersion points.
