The Congress party demanded an apology from Chief Minister K. Chandrashekara Rao for using a woman’s picture in the government’s advertisements without her consent and also sought extension of all benefits under the schemes she was featured.

At a press conference here, TPCC working president Bhatti Vikramarka and MLAs D.K. Aruna and Uttam Padmavathi said the Chief Minister has expertise in creating false impressions through false promises and the advertisements in which the woman was featured was ample proof.

The woman’s husband Nagaraju has land to benefit under the Rythu Bima scheme while her photograph was used in the Kanti Velugu scheme with another man without her consent, the Congress leaders said.

Ms. Padmavathi alleged that Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao doesn’t respect women and showing a woman with two different men without her consent reflects his attitude towards women. Will the CM understand the agony the woman went through when an unknown person was shown as her husband in the government advertisement, she asked.

Ms. D.K. Aruna said taking action against the advertisement agencies was not enough and the government should extend all benefits of the scheme the woman and her family was featured in. Mr. Nagaraju, husband of the woman involved in the advertisemnt also spoke and claimed he had to face the wrath of their family members as his wife was shown in poor light.
