Committee to look into discrepancies

April 21, 2019 10:59 pm | Updated 10:59 pm IST - Hyderabad

The Government has constituted a three-member committee to look into the controversies arising out of Intermediate results. It consists of Venkateswar Rao, MD, Telangana State Technology Services, Prof Vasan from BITS Pilani Hyderabad campus, an expert in validation and evaluation using IT tools and methods, and Prof. Nishant of IIT Hyderabad, who is on the advisory body of competitive examinations.

The decision was taken after Education Minister G. Jagadish Reddy reviewed the situation with Education Secretary B. Janardhan Reddy and other senior officials here on Sunday.

The Minister said there was no need for parents and students to worry about the results as the issue would be addressed. He said the controversy was due to internal differences among some officials. Students and parents, if they felt injustice was done to them, should apply for re-verification of answer sheets.

The committee would submit its report within three days, he said.
