The Hyderabad traffic police on Friday felicitated best auto-rickshaw drivers, who got positive feedback from commuters under ‘My Auto is Safe’ initiative launched by the police a few months ago.

The initiative was launched for digitalisation of all auto-rickshaws plying in the city to curb illegal activities and to make Hyderabad a safer city.

“Under the programme, a total of 35,000 auto-rickshaws in the city have registered, and they will display the QR-coded UV-printed board in their vehicles, which is visible to passengers sitting in the rear seat at all times,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Anil Kumar said.

“As many as 20 drivers got 5-star ratings and over 4,200 auto drivers secured 3-star ratings,” he said. Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, DCP (Traffic-I) L.S. Chowhan, Additional DCP A. Bhaskar and ACP (Central Zone) Vidya Sagar were present.
